Terms and conditions & booking terms

1. Scope

These terms and conditions are agreed between you and the Hôtel Cour Saint Georges and apply to all room bookings at the Hôtel Cour Saint Georges. You undertake to make bookings in good faith for legitimate use by yourself and your guests, and not to use them for any other purpose, including, but not limited to, resale, unauthorised assignment or publication on third-party websites, or the making of speculative, false or fraudulent bookings, or any booking made in advance of the request.

2. Room rates and tourist tax

The room rates agreed at the time of your booking apply to your booking. Meals, drinks and other extras are not included in the room rate, unless otherwise agreed. All charges include VAT and are quoted and payable in the local currency. Room rates must be paid in advance for non-refundable offers; all other charges must be settled upon departure or arrival. Tourist tax applies to all bookings.

3. Breakfast

Breakfast is served on weekdays and weekends from 8.00 am to 10.30 am.

4. Cancellation, changes and no-shows

We offer flexible and non-refundable rates. For flexible rates, you may cancel your booking up to 3.00 pm, four days prior to arrival, unless otherwise stated at the time of booking. If you cancel your booking after 3.00 pm, four days before your arrival, we will charge you the full amount of the booking. Peak periods may be subject to additional cancellation restrictions, of which you will be informed at the time of booking. With a non-refundable rate, it is not possible to change or cancel your booking, and the total amount of the booking, including tourist taxes, will be charged to your credit card immediately. If you have booked a room through a travel agency or an online travel agency (such as Booking.com), you must cancel or amend your booking with the agency through which you made the booking.

5. Check-in

Check-in is available from 3.00 pm. If you arrive early, we recommend that you come to our hotel and we will do our utmost to check you in as quickly as possible. If this is not possible, we will be happy to store your luggage for you. This will allow you to enjoy Ghent and check in later. We ask that you inform us in advance of your arrival time, and in the event of a late arrival after 10.00 pm, it is essential that you contact us to avoid a ‘no-show’ and the associated charges, and so that we can provide you with instructions on how to access your room.

6. Check-out

Check-out is available until 11:00. If you have not checked out by 11:00, a late check-out fee may be charged. If you have not checked out by 3.00 pm, we may charge you for an additional night. Any outstanding balance will be charged to your credit card.

7. Luggage

You can leave your luggage free of charge on the day of departure. Simply contact us and we will store it for you in our luggage storage facility.

8. Late check-out

Subject to availability, a late check-out is possible for an additional charge.

9. No-show

In the unfortunate event that you do not arrive on the day of your booking, the total amount of the booking, including taxes, will be charged to your credit card. Please note: if you do not check in by midnight, the system automatically treats the room as a ‘no-show’. This means that the booking is cancelled, but the obligation to pay the total amount of the booking, including taxes, remains in force. If you arrive after midnight, please let us know so that we can reserve the room for you and provide you with the necessary instructions to access it.

10. Invoice

An invoice will be sent to the email address provided at the time of booking or check-in. Invoices cannot be amended after departure.

11. Age

If you are a minor and are not accompanied by a person aged 18 or over, the Hôtel Cour Saint Georges reserves the right to ask you to leave the premises.

12. Room occupancy, children and extra beds

The maximum occupancy of a double room is 2 people. It is not possible to add extra beds to the room. Children weighing up to 15 kg and measuring up to 120 cm may sleep in a cot in certain rooms, which must be booked in advance at an additional cost. A maximum of one cot per room.

13. Pets

Pets (cats and dogs) are permitted at the Hôtel Cour Saint Georges.

14. Non-smoking

The Hôtel Cour Saint Georges is a strictly non-smoking establishment. Smoking is prohibited in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Smoking and/or tampering with the fire alarm will result in a fine of €250 (two hundred and fifty euros).

15. Parking

The hotel has a limited number of parking spaces available at an additional cost. Please contact reception to reserve a parking space.

16. Damage to the hotel

Any damage caused to the rooms or hotel premises by your group during your stay, as well as any items missing upon your departure, will be charged to the credit card on file.

17. Wireless Internet access (free)

Our wireless network is provided without any warranty, express or implied. We do not guarantee that access to our wireless network will be uninterrupted, fast, secure or error-free at all times, nor that it will meet your requirements. We are not responsible for the security, integrity, accuracy or completeness of any information you transmit or receive whilst using our wireless network. Our wireless network is provided at your sole discretion. Your access may be blocked, suspended or terminated for any reason.

18. Recording and Photography

Any audio or video recording, photo shoot, reproduction or broadcast of images, including those of the hotel’s buildings and grounds, for purposes other than strictly private use, requires our prior authorisation. This authorisation may be obtained by contacting us.

19. Liability of the Hôtel Cour Saint Georges

Our liability to you shall not exceed the amount of the fees you have paid to us, except to the extent that liability cannot be legally excluded or limited. Nor are we liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages.

20. Force majeure

The Hôtel Cour Saint Georges shall not be liable and shall pay no compensation in the event of failure to provide the contracted services resulting from circumstances beyond our control, (natural) disasters, fires, acts of war and terrorism, industrial disputes, adverse weather conditions, strikes, riots, civil unrest, government regulations or other catastrophic events, circumstances or emergencies rendering the guests’ stay at the Hôtel Cour Saint Georges impossible, illegal or impracticable.

21. Group bookings

Please contact the hotel if you wish to make a group booking. We consider a booking of 5 rooms or more to constitute a group booking, which is subject to review and approval by management.

22. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These general terms and conditions and all bookings made under them are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Belgian law. This choice of law does not affect the consumer protection afforded by provisions which cannot be waived by agreement under the law that would otherwise have been applicable in the country where you are staying.
